Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate for Secondary Education is a balanced international curriculum designed to encourage high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. The curriculum consists of a course study leading to an examination typically taken by students who are ready from age 13 to 16. Successful students will receive an International recognised qualification, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, which is equivalent in standard to the international GCE Ordinary level and British GCSE examination. The curriculum is suitable for students of all nationalities and all levels of ability. It provides an ideal preparation for higher level courses such as the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), international GCE Advanced level, SAT and APT, International Baccalaureate, and for vocational training and employment. IGCSE offered at Shelton High School covers a range of modules/ subjects with syllabus which are regularly reviewed to keep pace with developments in education practice and to meet the global needs and demands. The IGCSE is a four-year course offered to international students at Shelton High School in as an alternative to the GCE ‘O’ Levels.
Students will be able to sit for the IGCSE conducted by Pearson Education Ltd., UK.
