Singapore, 31 August 2025 – The Singapore Arts Theatre recently held a grand 70th Anniversary Charity Gala, bringing together nearly 300 guests, including sponsors, veteran and emerging theatre practitioners, to celebrate this culturally significant milestone. The gala not only paid tribute to the theatre’s seventy years of outstanding achievements, but also marked a rare and significant gathering for the theatre community. Shelton College International was honored to be invited, with faculty and students participating to support the event through professional practice.

Over the years, Shelton College International has maintained a close partnership with the Singapore Arts Theatre, providing students with authentic and professional stage experience. At the 70th Anniversary Charity Gala, Shelton students and faculty were actively involved: the college’s media team was responsible for documenting the event, capturing performances and interactions throughout the evening; students from the Hosting and Theatre Media Performance Practice & Education programme were invited to perform on stage, presenting the results of their classroom training in a formal setting and earning the attention and recognition of the gala attendees.

Faculty representatives also engaged with industry peers during the event, further strengthening the collaboration between the college and the theatre in arts education, stage practice, and cultural promotion. As a longstanding partner, Shelton College International has consistently provided students with opportunities to experience theatre firsthand, participate in professional projects, and engage with the arts ecosystem. Many alumni have continued their careers at the Singapore Arts Theatre, contributing to performance, backstage production, and media documentation.

Shelton College International’s participation in the 70th Anniversary celebration highlights the depth and trust of this enduring partnership and underscores the college’s commitment to nurturing talent in arts and media. The college will continue to work closely with key local cultural institutions, creating richer platforms for practical experience, professional development, and learning, empowering students to grow and shine in real-world environments.
