On 20 December 2023, Shelton College International’s second-year Acting students put on

a theatrical extravaganza at the Goodman Arts Centre in Singapore, titled Encounters. An Evening of Theatre" in its blackbox theatre.

The performance included highlights from world-renowned productions such as A Streetcar Named Desire, The Hypocrites, No Child's Play, Dumb and Dumber and Youthful Taboo Games, which were skilfully paired with industry-renowned floor controllers and lighting technicians to present an immersive theatre performance.

This was one of the public performances organised by the Acting Department of Shelton College International for the semester report. The performance was not only rigorously graded by Shelton’s teachers, but also attracted a large number of real audience members. This demonstrates the college's focus on 'practical projects', providing students with more opportunities to perform and gain experience in real life performances.

The students took full advantage of the Goodman theatre's black box set-up to demonstrate creativity, acting talent and a solid academic foundation in the performing arts.

Audience members commented that the show was not only a visual feast, but also a cathartic experience that was deeply engaging. This successful performance laid a solid foundation for Shelton College International’s second-year acting students, pushing them to a higher stage and paving the way for a future in acting.
