Minimum Entry Requirement
a. Minimum age of 20 years.
b. Academic Level:
a. First degree from an acceptable university including those who are completing final year coursework OR
b. Equivalent academic qualification with working experience
c. Mature candidate of minimum age of 30 with at least 8 years working experience in film, TV and media or related industry
d. Minimum language requirement:
a. B4 in Chinese language or equivalent

GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FILM, TV AND MEDIA (Mandarin) is a graded course which aims is to prepare and enable students to develop the skills needed to successfully complete a Master’s Degree in the specialized area of Film, TV or media.
Specifically, the target markets are students who wish to pursue an MA either in Singapore or in a partner university in the UK. We anticipate that the majority of students will be recruited from China. The programme will be delivered in Chinese language.
Following completion of the course, students will be able to:
Develop the skills and gain a proficiency required in a masters programme
Demonstrate the capability and confidence to be independent learners
Develop a strong portfolio building on existing skills
Recognise and comprehend different methodological approaches to academic research.
Demonstrate an improved ability to write and assess media critics, scripts, sketches and screenplays
ADVANCED CREATIVE THEORIES IN FILM, TV AND MEDIA
This module focuses on film creation and audiovisual technology, director's practice, and the introduction of new technologies in film and television media to meet the employment needs of film and television industry. Keys to learning and the application of new ideas and techniques in marketing and distribution will be understood.
ADVANCED CREATIVE TECHNIQUES IN FILM, TV AND MEDIA
The module includes professional practice and work creation. Close attention will be given to students' overall improvement of digital cinematography, audio and video technology, and advanced post-editing skills. The students will develop their skills in capturing subjects and scenes in film. The module will require learners to produce a portfolio of work showcasing their production skills.
LITERATURE AND GENERAL EDUCATION IN FILM, TV AND MEDIA
The module Literature and General Education in Film, TV and Media focuses on cultivating student image culture and theoretical thinking. It upholds the philosophy of both humanistic education and the functional training of film and television media. It takes into account the theoretical and creative fields in the curriculum.
ACADEMIC CAPABILITIES ENHANCEMENT
Through the study of the module Academic Capabilities Enhancement students will be learning the fundamentals of research methods of professional topics and the academic norms of graduate student dissertation writing. In the same manner, the students will be equipped with the skills needed for study in a post-graduate education – introducing them to the expectations they will face and how to fulfill them.
