“The Magic of Voice” – Master Zhang Miaoyang Visits Shelton College International to Share the Art of Voice and Media Wisdom

Recently, we welcomed the master of voice arts, Mr. Zhang Miaoyang, to Shelton College International. Born in Singapore with ancestral roots in Longyan, Fujian, Mr. Zhang is an expert in commercial voice-overs and a recitation art tutor. He also serves as a broadcast director and the chief voice-over artist at Phoenix Television.

Mr. Zhang Miaoyang, a native of Singapore, has a rich heritage from Longyan, Fujian. He is a renowned commercial voice-over artist, recitation and media education instructor, and the chief voice-over artist and broadcast director at Phoenix Television. Mr. Zhang has been active in Singapore's drama and broadcasting scenes since childhood. After moving to Hong Kong in the early 1980s, he served as a voice training instructor and program host for various radio stations, accumulating extensive experience in training announcers and practical broadcasting.

Over the past thirty years, Mr. Zhang has lent his voice to numerous TV commercials and dramas, becoming one of Hong Kong’s most famous voice-over artists and announcers. In his early years, he was the voice of STAR TV’s Chinese channel and has been responsible for narrating all promotional videos of Phoenix Television since its launch, continuing to serve as the station's signature voice (channel image voice).

During this rare opportunity, Mr. Zhang not only shared his profound insights into voice performance, recitation techniques, and media education but also delivered an inspiring masterclass. The students were captivated by his lecture and expressed that they benefited immensely.

With his rich experience and unique vocal charm, Mr. Zhang showcased the magic of voice to everyone. Through this course, we not only learned the stories and techniques behind the art but also gained a deeper understanding of voice artistry.
